AUP Informant
AUP Informant is an application that runs at logon to display your Acceptable Usage Policy to students. This is already possible using group policies but the idea behind this program is to give you:
- A rich, graphical usage policy using webpages that you can customise
- Different usage policies for staff and students
- Logging of policy acceptance
- Email notification when a user declines your policy
If the user has already seen the policy and made a decision, they won't see the program again unless you reset it or change the policy. If they don't accept the policy, the program will warn them and log them off before notifying an administrator by email. A hidden file, aup.ini, will be written to the student's home folder and this contains their decision. You can then look back at this at any point in the future in case you need to prove that a student has accepted or declined your usage policy.
