Edugeek Joomla Package
A lot of schools are looking at using Content Managed Systems (CMS) like Joomla to help build great looking; easy to manage websites to keep in contact with their community and to also share and celebrate pupils work. Using a CMS based website can provide a quick and easy way to achieve this, but for those people who have not used one before it can be quite daunting.
This is where the package comes in. It is a pre built Joomla site which has been made with schools in mind. It has been designed with some choice add-ons to give a multimedia rich website with minimal input from the user.
All the hard work has been done for you. All the Joomla menus and content have been pre-configured so that all a user has to is go through and replace the dummy text with the information relevant to their establishment. Everything can be easily edited / changed or removed to suite your needs.
Also included are 3 templates each with a number of colour variations that should suite most schools. Other templates that have been designed especially for the package are available from the downloads section.
Other members of the Edugeek community are now developing a version of the package based on Joomla 1.5. This is a completely seperate project from the original package.
